Under the patronage of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Technical and Vocational Education, and Training, and with the presence of the Secretary-General of the Local Council in Hadhramaut, Mr. Saleh Aboud Al-Amqi, and the President of Hadhramout University, Dr. Mohammed Said Khunbash, the Institute for Studies and Capacity Building launched the event to announce the study titled "Bridging the Gap between Scientific Specializations and the Needs of Labor Sectors in Hadhramaut." The study is funded by the Nahd Development Foundation. The study, funded by the Nahd Development Foundation, aimed to identify the scientific specializations required for Hadhramaut based on the changing needs of society. This was done to align the outputs of educational institutions at various academic levels with the needs of the labor sectors in the province. During the event, Mr. Saleh Aboud Al-Amqi, the Secretary-General of the Local Council in Hadhramaut, delivered a speech emphasizing the importance of the study in addressing the crucial issue of identifying the required specializations in the labor market. He expressed the local authority's readiness to give significant attention to the implementation of this study in practice. Mr. Ibrahim Jum'an bin Thabet, the Executive Director of the Nahd Development Foundation, spoke about the funding organization's role in the study. He highlighted that the study serves as a cornerstone for the scientific development of Hadhramaut by directing educational programs at various academic levels to meet the needs of the labor sectors in the province. Mr. Fahmi Mabrouk bin Mahna, the Director of Al-Omran Institute for Studies and Capacity Building, spoke about the institute's role in preparing and disseminating studies, emphasizing the importance of studies and research in the development process. A video presentation was shown during the event, providing an overview of the study, its objectives, stages of completion, and key results. Among the notable results was the identification of the number of specializations for students from Hadhramaut inside and outside Yemen for the years 2021-2025, totaling 638 specializations across various academic degrees. Additionally, a matrix of scientific specializations required for the labor sectors in Hadhramaut was presented based on different academic degrees. The results indicated priority specializations, with 613 specializations in various academic degrees and 179 specializations as secondary priorities. Dr. Sheikh Ali Shami, representing the study team, expressed gratitude to the Nahd Development Foundation and all contributors to the success of the study, including universities, colleges, institutes, government entities, civil society organizations, student associations, and scholars from Hadhramaut both inside and outside Yemen. Certificates of appreciation were distributed to the participants in the study workshops at the end of the event
