His Excellency the Minister of Social Affairs and Labor, Dr. Mohammed Saeed Al-Zauri, met in his office in Aden with the Director of Partnerships and Financial Resource Development at Nahd Development Foundation, Engineer Mohammed Mansour Bin Thabit, the Deputy President of the Urban Institute for Studies and Capacity Building, Mr. Omar Abdulaziz Bin Aqeel, and the Director of Programs and Projects at the Foundation, Engineer Ali Hamad Al-Dulaei, to review the development study for the Socotra Archipelago Governorate.
During the meeting, the developmental study, funded by the Nahd Development Foundation and implemented by the Urban Institute for Studies and Capacity Building, was presented. Minister Al-Zauri expressed his appreciation for the comprehensive information included in the study, covering various developmental sectors with the participation of the local community. He commended the role of the Nahd Foundation and the Urban Institute for preparing the study, which constitutes a fundamental requirement for developmental interventions in the governorate based on data collected from the field.
The Minister emphasized the importance of meeting the basic needs of citizens, as well as coordinating with the local authorities to achieve sustainable development in the Socotra Archipelago Governorate.
The team from the Nahd Foundation and the Urban Institute for Studies and Capacity Building expressed their appreciation for Minister Al-Zauri’s efforts in supporting developmental work and meeting the needs of citizens in all governorates. They confirmed ongoing coordination with the ministry and local authorities to ensure the success of developmental projects.
The meeting was attended by Saleh Mahmoud Abu Suhail, Undersecretary of the Ministry for the Social Welfare Sector, Mohammed Ali Al-Samati, Director General of Associations, Ashraf Mohammed, Director General of Systems and Information, and Abdulnasir Thabit Nasr, the ministry’s coordinator with international organizations.
